Arrest of Risha killer in 48 hours: Police

Police on Tuesday pledged to arrest Obaidul, slain Willes Little Flower School student Risha's suspected killer, within 48 hours.

Agitating students of Willes Little Flower School and College blocked put an end to their demonstration around noon after being assured of the arrest.

The students blocked Kakrail Road in the city on Monday morning protesting the killing of Risha, a student of class VIII of the school, halting vehicular movement on Malibagh, Shantinagar, Bijoynagar and Nayapaltan areas, reports news agency UNB.

Ramna police assistant commissioner Shibli Noman visited the spot at 1:30pm and assured the agitating students that Risha's murderer will be arrested within the next 48 hours.

Suraya Akhter Risha, 14, daughter of Md Ramzan Ali, a resident of Bangshal of old Dhaka, was stabbed by miscreants in Kakrail area of the city on August 24.

She died of her wounds at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday morning.
